About Me

I’m Jack, a musician and producer / engineer from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I’m 20 y/o and I live in Bloomington, Indiana, where I study audio engineering at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. My real name is Jack Jones but my artist / producer name is Jack Daye (totally not confusing I know).

I started writing my own music when I was 13 and started producing for other artists at 18. I’m experienced in several DAWs (mainly Logic Pro and Pro Tools) and also have experience using consoles and analog electronics. I’m also a singer, jazz guitarist, bassist, drummer, and saxophonist.

I mostly work out of my home studio but am equipped to work with any professional (or unprofessional) space. My home studio is featured to the right - it is built for efficient production, mixing, and vocal tracking / editing. It is not the best space for multitrack recording (though it has been done). Some specs of the studio include:

  • 2023 M2 Mac Studio

  • Pair of Kali Audio IN-5s

  • Avid Artist Mix

  • SSL 2 MKII Audio Interface

  • Pair of Klipsch R-41PMs

  • Yamaha NS-SW050 8” Subwoofer

  • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro

  • Bose Quietcomfort

  • LZSIG 4-ch Headphone Distro

  • Akai MPK Midi Keyboard

  • Gauge ECM-87

  • A super cute kitty (her name is Zoe)

I also have several electric guitars, an amp, an acoustic guitar, and a bass that I often use in my productions. In addition, I own a large number of plugins including the LiquidSonics reverb suite, the Izotope Music Production suite, and Melodyne. Most of my released music has been recorded, produced, and mixed here and it is designed to be flexible and portable. The aesthetic of the room is also a priority to me so the room is decorated and curated so it inspires my clients and friends.

I like making new and complex textures in my productions, and I love being challenged as a producer and mixer to realize an ambitious creative vision. If you’re looking for someone to help with your vision, shoot me an email or DM and I’d love to chat about your music :)
